The ACOSO Team

  • Giancarlo FortinoAssociate Professor (University of Calabria, Italy), Website, g(dot)fortino(at)unical(dot)it

Supervisor of the Plasma Research Group (Department of Electronics, Informatics, and Systems - University of Calabria) and CEO of SenSysCal S.r.l. His research interests include distributed computing, wireless sensor networks, multimedia systems, agent-oriented technology and systems, and applied software engineering.
  • Antonio GuerrieriResearch fellow (University of Calabria, Italy), Website, aguerrieri(at)deis(dot)unical(dot)it

He received the PhD degree in computer engineering from the University of Calabria, Italy, in 2012. His research interests are focused on design methods for high-level programming of wireless sensor networks. He spent six months as researcher at the Telecom Italia WSN Lab at Berkeley, California, and one year at the Clarity Centre, UCD (University College Dublin), Ireland. He is involved in several research projects on wireless sensor networks such as BMF, SPINE, MAPS and FP7 CONET. He is a co-founder of SenSysCal S.r.l., a spin-off of University of Calabria.
  • Claudio Savaglio PhD Student (University of Calabria, Ital), Website, csavaglio(at)dimes(dot)unical(dot)it

He received the Master's degree in computer engineering from the University of Calabria, Italy, in 2013. He spent six months at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) researching on adaptative routing protocol design for IoT and three months at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTDallas) researching on human activity recognition and motor rehabilitation assistance based on wearable motion sensors. Currently, his main research interest is focused on autonomic and cognitive management of cooperative smart objects in the Internet of Things (IoT) context.
